الاعتراض على تغير اسم درجات باب العامود
نحن الموقعين على هذه العريضة نؤكّد رفضنا قيام بلدية الاحتلال بتغيّر اسم درجات باب العامود إلى مُسمى استعماري جديد يخدم الرواية الاحتلالية. إن "درجات باب العامود" هي الاسم الأصلي لمدخل البلدة القديمة الرئيسي، حيث ينطبق هذا المُسمّى على المدلول المكاني والتاريخي.
إن قيام بلدية الاحتلال في نهاية تشرين الثاني 2020 بتغير اسم درجات باب العامود وتسميته على اسم مجندتين، عمل مُستفزّ يستهدف تزوير التاريخ وخلق وقائع جديدة لا تتماشى مع أصالة هذه المنطقة من البلدة القديمة.
كما نُؤكّد أننا سوف نستمر في استخدام الاسم الأصلي #درجات_باب_العامود في أحاديثنا وأدبياتنا وكتاباتنا المُختلفة لتثبيت التاريخ. ونتوجّه إلى المؤسسات الحقوقية المحلية والدولية للتصدي لهذا التزوير.

im still seeing so many people using the real name whenever they talk about the stairs and it honestly means the world to me. we cant let them just erase history with a new sign when we all know exactly what this place is called.

seeing this much movement against the name change is honestly incredible. it shows that people really care about protecting the history of our city and wont let these labels stick.

Stop changing history and geography to ethnically cleanse Palestinian existence
never change something not yours .this is palestinian property .you are only occupier and one day you have to leave this land .so dont change any historical thing
Their should be an international solution to prevent history counterfeit and changing facts specially in the occupied territory
Jerusalem the city I was born in and spent all my childhood and teenage years in until the 1967 war ..
This is so disrespectful to our heritage! Stop trying to change the facts on the ground. Jerusalem stays Jerusalem.

Bab al-Amud will always be Bab al-Amud no matter what they put on the signs. They cant just rewrite the history of our streets.
