Disney Cruise Line's New Carry On Alcohol Policy - Remove the policy or add liquor and grandfather in PIF customers! #DCLprohibitiongate2015

I'm not a big wine drinker and would love to be able to bring a bottle of rum. Please reconsider your new alcohol regulations. Your old policy set you apart and made Disney Adults happy! Be the Disney we know and love :)

Very disappointed at the changes.

Let the people who are booked through this year and already paid allowed to bring on at least 1 bottle per adult. There was NO communication about this. I was quick to get an email from Disney a few year ago when you changed the policy on smoking from stateroom balconies on a future booked cruise. No matter to us as we don't smoke, but at least we were advised. This will most likely be our last Disney cruise for this reason and for the record we DO spend money at the bar. We just like to have a drink in room at night while kids are sleeping. I think that is more approperate thaning dragging kids to bars on ships to night Disney. Please Disney, change back the policy.

Seriously reconsidering the placeholder I just paid for! The prices for a Disney cruise were already much higher than their competitors and the previous rules permitted our family to get a bit of savings. We can sail with other lines MUCH cheaper and have the same restrictions. And no more Mickey mail either...

Hi there, on what was to be our 4th Disney cruise, the alcohol policy has been amended. I am ok with setting some limits- but to ban liquor, is not acceptable. Sadly, we will no longer be cruising Disney. We have cancelled our January cruise and booked with RCL. Their prices are more inline with our budget now, given the extras I will have to spend on having a rum in my room. I am saddened to not cruise Disney again, and regret that I no longer cannot afford the premiums for a line that clearly has no problem jilting its PIF customers, or without any thoughts for grandfathering in those already booked. I just can't risk that DCL won't make any more detrimental changes to my budget. With the CDN exchange rate, the higher costs to sail with DCL and the services diminishing, so too is the Magic.

This policy is an unnecessary tactic to make more money off people who want to cruise on your line. I have been on 3 Disney cruises and have never seen people out of control from consuming alcohol. I have brought on alcohol every time but enjoy ordering the drinks by the pool, at the bars and taking the classes. This policy will deter people from booking on your line as it puts you in the same category as the other cruise lines.

I will Disney-fy my comment by saying it was a "dirt" bag move doing this to your guests who were paid in full. If you really want to be inline with other cruise lines, look to NCL and Celebrity who have amazing packages (including liquor packages) that give their cruises an all-inclusive feel, and offers some great booking perks for booking suites, unlike DCL. All I have to say is our upcoming cruise better be BETTER than PERFECT, because you have a HUGE chip to knock off my shoulder before I've even set foot on the ship.

Reverse or at least reconsider the policy to include liquor and adjust the amount based on the length of the cruise. Disney and DCL have always set the bar in both customer service and the overall guest experience. You have consistently risen above the "cruise" industry and this is what creates the "magic". If Disney wants to start being on par with others in the cruise industry, families should be given the courtesy to decide if the Disney premium is still worth it. Taking that decision away from those who have paid in full is an absolutely horrible guest experience and is NOT in line with the premium brand that DCL has built. Be the cruise line we all believe you to be!

Disney shame on you. You keep taking away the little perks that set you apart. This alcohol policy is not fair at all

If you not going to allow us to bring items such as rum/vodka on board I would rather you lower your cruise prices since you will be making it up in the purchase of alcohol just like all other cruise lines.

PAID IN FULL over a month ago, policy goes into effect 4 days before I sail.

Very disappointed at this new policy. Will I cancell my next cruise no. Will I book another cruise while onboard,highly unlikely at this point. If Disney wants to match policies with other cruise line standards, why would one pay a ton of extra money for? Disney is slowly getting rid of the unique perks that separated the, from other lines. It's not just this change, but the slow decline of services. No spirits allowed,why? I would think the founder of this company would not settle for just being standard at anything.

I think that spirits should also be a choice asany people do not drink wine or beer. One bottle would be sufficient. Thank you

When we booked our Disney Cruise (Feb. 2015) we looked into the alcohol policy. We used the BYOB policy to help justify the price difference from other cruise lines. We still planned on purchasing a drink or two from Disney or even a bottle of wine with dinner. To change this policy 3 days prior to our cruise is bait and switch! We as consumers are very disappointed and we haven’t even left for our vacation. This policy should have taken affect prior to ‘paid in full dates’ so people could elect to opt out if they chose to do so. Or this policy should take affect for the passengers that have not yet paid in full. Unfortunately, this new policy will affect the gratuities we set aside and planned for the staff. It also affects any future plans we may have had with Disney Cruises. We are very disappointing in Disney, seems that profit and gouging is what dreams are made of at Disney. This change makes Disney Cruise not worth the higher fares. This will be our first and last Disney Cruise. You just made the competition look so much better!

We just booked a Royal Caribbean cruise. We have sailed all 4 of the ships and loved Disney, but this new change will be the dealbreaker if we enjoy our cruise on another line. I used the BYOB policy to help justify the price difference (and yes we still purchased a couple drinks a day from Disney). I can't do that any more. We will purchase the drink package on the RCL cruise we have booked and it will still be cheaper than a Disney cruise - by quite a bit.

Please stop diluting the Magic

The limits should reflect ports. An 11 night transatlantic doesn't have many refill opportunities.
