On January 23, 2014 Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton announced the city ended homelessness among veterans, Our group of volunteers have proven this to be an untruth and have tried to work with Human Services Director Moises Gallegos in hopes he could comprehend our "Veteran Save Zone" and "Organized Encampment" programs. The TV news announcement on 12/10/2015 reveals he either does not comprehend and/or does not want to comprehend the successful social model we have in place at ZERO cost to the City of Phoenix. It is not a crime to be homeless. Help us to remain open as a temporary housing arrangement for our Veterans while we help them transition. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/01/23/usa-today-capital-download-phoenix-mayor-greg-stanton-veterans-homelessness/4794199/

Keep Camp Alpha open and support our Veterans! It is a shame that they are just trying to have a safe place to stay and are being forced out. This is not the way to treat those who risked their lives to protect our Country!

It's wrong to shut down a program that is helping VETS! All they have done for our country and you want to leave them on the streets.

I believe they are doing a good thing. They are doing more for our homeless vets then any one else. If they are not harming any one then why make a fuss? We need more people like them in our would. A change for the better, and I believe that is what they are doing.

Please do not close this much needed camp. If the government cannot take care of our vets, the community can help by keeping these camps open to give aid to the homeless.

I live in the neighborhood where this is set up. I see nothing wrong with it. I drive by it four times a day. It gives me comfort to see soemthing positive in all the negative that happens along Hatcher.

My father, a disabled Vietnam Nam veteran nearly became homeless in 2013 due to a clerical error by the Phoenix VA. He was charged over $45k in a billing error and sent to collections who threatened to size his few assets. After a year long battle the error was corrected. Many of the homeless veterans on the streets may be so due to similar situations, the Camp Alpha Project provides them a safe temporary place to go. One thing I have learned is that vets do have a genuine care for each other so they have a better chance of survival by being brought together than left to try and survive on their own. Please support Camp Alpha Project.
