I vote against this petition. My family along with some youth have served the veterans in this shelter and the owner is an amazing person. This shelter is very clean and administered and so don't see a reason to close it down. These men served our country and they fought for our freedom and they deserve a place to call home. This is more than a shelter, is a family, and these people are doings absolutely nothing wrong. In the other hand, helping the homeless. Instead of closing it down, give the owner some funds and ideas to make it "code accurate" but don't close it down. It will be so unfair and what kind of example are we giving our new generation. You serve, you protect us, the government was too late to help control the PTSD and we don't care anymore about you know that you are no longer active duty? Let's be more humanitarian and extend a helping hand.

Someone needs to help these Vets. If your not willing to do n it that's fine, but don't make life harder for these volunteers who are looking to make a difference by sitting zoning and city ordinances and building code. Just get the hell out of the way and let these people do the great job they have been doing.

If you can't provide comparable service which evidently you cannot, then let them stay open! And stop lying about ending veteran homelessnes in the City of Phoenix. We all know it is not true.
