CRNA ARE SAFER ANESTHESIA PROVIDER

It is a misgiving that a MDA is safer. Education on this issue is poor amongst all lay persons and not at all supported in the literature. Consider the long standing military models of anesthesia delivery to severely wounded, combat soldiers.

Unnecessary restriction of nurse anesthesiologists will have a negative impact on the great state of Florida. Providers will not want to live and practice here, thus decreasing access to safe, effective and high quality anesthesia care.

This does nothing to increase patient safety. It does negatively impact access to care for the people of Florida.

CRNA only practices are very safe.

CRNAs are safe and competent anesthesia providers. Studys have shown our tract record as safe anesthesia providers time and time again.

CRNA practice should be enhanced, not restricted. This could result in gaps of access to healthcare and, potentially, drive up the cost. There is no research that concludes an MDA must be involved when a patient is already under the safe care of a Nurse Anesthesiologist.

CRNAs are sole anesthesia providers in millions of cases done in United States .CRNAs started providing anesthesia care over 150 years before any medical doctors started providing anesthesia . CRNAs attends rigorous program in anesthesia school , including , not limited to, Pre op assessment, intro op anesthesia management and post op care , critical care , pain management, regional anesthesia , placing and maintaining central lines . Restricting CRNA practice as a sole provider increases the spending of Medicare dollars unnecessarily . Studies shown no difference between the care of CRNA practice / MD anesthesiologists. Hope you don’t add further increase in already increasing medical / surgical cost of this country .

More cooks in the kitchen does not make the food any better. Or safer. Instead of looking at increasing the number of snsthesia providers in the OR, why not regulate the Doctors who conduct surgery or invasive procedure in

Fat embolism is a SURGICAL complication not an anesthetic complication. Perhaps fat grafting should only be performed by board certified plastic surgeons and not family doctors with no surgical training?

I do not support this bill. I am a CRNA and support the independent practice of CRNA everywhere. We are highly trained individuals and the best kept secret in health care. We not only lower health care cost, we do so while providing the same care as doctor anesthesiologists and better care than anesthesia assistants.

CRNA or NURSE ANESTHESIOLOGISTS are safe. This does not that mean one bad apple like a mediocre Crna or an anesthesiologist make everybody unsafe. Studies have proven CRNAs are safe to administer anesthesia independently.

I am a current SRNA in FL. I really hope this does not become a reality. I wish congress would do some research and not depend on what people tell them before making decisions that can impact people's careers.

Please make sure all aspects are investigated before blaming anesthesia (appropriate equipment, surgeon technique, appropriate preoperative screening of patients). There is no associated increase in mortality when a crna works alone with a surgeon, when a crna and anesthesiologist work together or when an anesthesiologist works alone with a surgeon. This simply increases healthcare costs and limits access with zero improvement in safety. https://www.healthaffairs.org/do/10.1377/hblog20100803.006273/full/
