The safety and service of CRNA's is beyond reproach. Send this bill to the garbage bin.

Last patient’s death that occurred , as far as I recall, was that of Joan Rivers in the hands and under care of physician anesthesiologist.

CRNA ‘s provide cost- effective safe anesthesia care independently all over the US.

Independent CRNA provided anesthesia has been proven again and again to be as safe as care team anesthesia. Restricting CRNA practice only inflates the cost of care with no change in safety.

40 states already practice without supervision...including the top 10 health outcomes states in the nation. Coincidence? Stop with the outdated legislation

I am a CRNA that has been a solo, safe, and proficient provider of anesthesia in the office based setting for 17 years. In addition, countless other CRNAs have a proven track record of providing quality safe anesthesia in the office setting for decades. There is absolutely no evidence to show that having an anesthesiologist providing, assisting, or supervising anesthesia in the office is a safer arrangement for the patient.

Ridiculous! CRNAs preform over 80% of the national anesthetics. To blame and state CRNAs are not as “safe” as an MDA is not true!

This is a power struggle for the physician anesthesiologists that is directly related to money. It is unrelated to patient safety or patient outcomes which have been proven to be equally comparable between CRNAs and physician anesthesiologists. This is based on incomplete sensationalized news that are irrelevant to anesthesia outcomes from patient care provided by CRNAs and/or CRNAs in office based practice. Not one single death reported, in attempts to substantiate these false claims, is anesthesia related. The surgeons reported have had their licenses revoked or severely limited. Not surprising, the number & type of cases are not reported to determine a percentage of risk factor, but even if it had been reported it would show the surgical risk factor is no different than it would be for the same surgery on a comparable patient within the amount of those surgeries performed in a physician anesthesiologist setting, which would still be unrelated to anesthesia providers as no reported death here is a result of anesthesia care provided. The proper reform to focus on is the state laws that govern surgeons and their scope of practice.

CRNAs provide exceptional care, and it would not only be a burden on patients, but additionally limit access to care and increase costs to restrict their practice in this way. Please review the literature, and you will find their is no additional increase in safety with the presence of a physician anesthesiologist.

Numerous studies including a Cochrane systematic review have demonstrated that provider type (CRNA versus anesthesiologist) has zero impact on patient outcomes. This bill would have a detrimental impact on the safety of Florida patients by increasing costs and decreasing access to care. It should be immediately withdrawn.

CRNAs have extensive education and valuable skills that should be utilized to the fullest. CRNAs are part of reducing healthcare costs

This will only hurt patient access to care.

Joan Rivers was being taken care of by an anesthesiologist. Lets not forget the facts. Anesthesia has been proven just as safe or safer when delivered by CRNA’s. I can provide plenty of studies to prove this for you.

Restricting CRNA practice is dangerous for patients. CRNAs give the majority of the anesthetics in this country without an anesthesiologist present. CRNAs have been practicing independently for decades, please don’t restrict patient care. Patients need our services. This bill would increase costs of anesthesia and medical care and restrict access for patients. Please don’t support this bill.

This bill does nothing to increase patient safety and is not driven by evidence but rather by fear mongering. If we subscribe to this line of though, perhaps the government shutdown could also have been prevented by physician anesthesiologists?? This bill would do nothing but further restrict access to care by Floridians, drive excellent practitioners out of the state, and reinforce the single most costly model of anesthesia care delivery in the world.

CRNAs have provided safe, efficient and cost effective care for years. Studies have shown that outcomes are no different with or without physician supervision. This bill would limit patient care while increasing surgical costs.
