Hopefully something can be done to help bring 6218 out of retirement.

The last time I rode 6218 was back in 1968. It would nice to give her the proper respect she has earned. Indoors out of the weather, like the engines at the Museum on St. Laurent Blvd., here in Ottawa would be perfect. She's part of our railway heritage. Don't waste her.

6218 deserves so much better than it has gotten in retirement. I urge the city of Fort Erie to take the NRM up on this offer.

Moving this locomotive provides a relatively simple solution to stopping the decay of an artifact of Ontario history. Many still recall riding excursions behind it and I'm sure a fund-raising effort could help defray costs of making the move.

I had many happy trips riding being 6218 in Ontario, I was present during its valedictory, which was given by Omer LaVallee. You have a unique part of Canadian Railway History. Please DO NOT move it. Just for the record, I live in the NYC region.

Niagara Railway is the best option

This is long overdue. I have a picture of myself taken in 1989 with the engine….and it was rough then. The City of Fort Erie should be embarrassed for how they have let this fall into such disrepair….and the NRM is the best option for a new home that will properly care for it.

Keep her there, please! I was lucky enough to operate her between Toronto and Paris, Ontario years ago!

Please keep this locomotive preserved forever or at least get it running! Do both!

Fantastic initiative. Please don’t let the beautiful relic of the steam era go to waste.

This seems to be an advantageous and logical solution to further protect and possibly restore the 6218. Why wouldn't they would be my question?

My. Grandfather and father both worked for the New York Central railway and I would like to see this engine preserved at the museum . My dad was killed at work , the week of his retirement in 1975.....the railroad has a very special meaning to me .
