End inclement weather "Optional Work Days" for CHCCS teachers

Please support our excellent teachers. They continuously give back more than they are compensated for.

Consider allowing teachers to log hours outside of the school day and apply to that day or work from home.. we are doing it anyway!

I am a new teacher and absolutely shocked by this policy. I would love to hear the reasoning behind this, because I cannot find one. This is an easy “benefit” to include for teachers to show a little more support and respect for their profession and all the hours they put in to their jobs without the pay.

I find this hard to believe. Clearly if they are asked to work an additional day, they should be compensated accordingly.

A reevaluation and analysis of cancellation policies should be considered

Please change this policy and be fair to our hardworking and dedicated teachers!

the teachers are working from home on the days school is closed anyway. we shouldn't penalize them if they cannot safely make it in, or do not have childcare available.

Please help keep our teachers at CHCCS and safe and happy in their chosen profession

Please change the policy - it is not fair not to compensate teachers for double work

I moved to Carrboro so that my son could go to school HERE, in one of the best districts in the state. His teachers go above and beyond for him, again and again. I trust that they work hard and do what is in our children’s best interest. They shouldn’t have to make up snow days with their leave time. Please allow them the option of working from home, safely.

Support our teachers. Time to change this policy

Much overdo. Teachers are professionals, and if conditions are unfit for students to go to school on snow days,then it is equally unfit for teachers to go.

Teachers should be able (and trusted) to work from home on snow days.

C'mon CHCCS, we should treat our teachers better by removing/modifying this policy.

The teachers in this district deserve better. I am a teacher in PA and was appalled to read that this is happening. I hope that the district realizes its teachers need to be treated better.

This is such an outdated policy. Teachers should be allowed to work from the safety of their homes as opposed to taking personal leave.

Teachers deserve better treatment!

I had no idea teachers actually had to clock in at school or take the day of personal leave. In a world of telecommuting, this is absurd.

Teachers should be able to work from home during inclement weather. It's 2018.

Working remotely as there is work to be done. Regularly put in time working from home.
