The city tried to to overturn the arbitrators ruling on the Engine 100 fiasco. The city lost then and will loose on this one. I can't believe theres not more signatures. Lets go union members. Solidarity!

Such a terrible lack of judgement by exempt rank officers has led an entire department to question the ability of the APPOINTED Fire Commissioner.These exempt rank officers should have recieve remedial training in rules and regulations and leadership . This commissioner needs to be replaced with by a leader and it should not be based on whether a leader has a vagina or a dark skin

I have worked under every commissioner the CFD has had for nearly 40 years, starting with Robert J. Quinn in 1976, to this current individual. In 4 decades there have been more of them good than bad, but nobody as pathetic as Santiago, who shows a very obvious contempt against the men and women of this Dept., be it a power-trip or any other reason. To take a stance that he in his mind is the "ultimate high power" is what is just as pathetic, especially challenging an arbitration award to an officer who used his own logical judgement in the best interest of HIS MEN and went against the orders of a Santiago-appointed minority lackyette who had no clue about CFD procedure as to what to do. However, Rahm is equally at fault for keeping him in that position.
