Calvin Coolidge High School is a very necessary educational institution in the Upper Northwest Community. It has served as the foundation as well as a springboard for many young adults who have subsequently contributed to the richness of our society. It would be an absolute travesty to remove such a positive aspect of education and development for the young men and women seeking guidance and opportunity.

Coolidge shaped my future by giving me self confidence and an unshakable belief that I could do whatever I aspired to in my future. I am a successful business owner today.

I'm a lifetime alumni, class of 1970. Former community planner w/DC gov and worked on environmental garden and related projects for CCHS and community and support funding for entire modernization of the CCHS facility. My entire family graduated from CCHS, being native Washingtonians. It is vital the school remains open and accessible for future and current students by all means. Do not interrupt our legacy.

Lets get these signatures and over the last couple of years at meetings it was stated Coolidge was next to receive renovations but now we seem to be left behind.

Great neighborhoods need great neighborhood schools. Coolidge is --and has been -- a major part of our community. We need it to come back ASAP, with renovated and with a comprehensive and amitious academic program.

OF COURCE CCHS SHOULD STAY OPEN BECAUSE IT IS LOCATED IN THE UPPER NW AREA. IF THEY WANTTO CLOSE ANY HS, CLOSE THOSE ONES THAT HAVE SO MANY FIGHTS AND THE STUDENTS ARE KILLING ONE ANOTHER. I AM A ALUMNI OF CCHS-1966. WE SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE NEXT BUDGET MEETING THAT PERTAINS TO THE OPENING AND CLOSING OF DC HS AND WE ALL SHOULD ATTEND.

I graduated Coolidge 1980 and demand it remain open as a Public School, in Ward 4, closing this school would be a travesty to the Ward 4 Community!!!

As a continuity member for 9 years, I have watched young parents move out of our neighborhoods and potential parents avoid our neighborhoods out of concern for quality schools. Modernized buildings increase the likelihood that neighborhood parents will send their kids to neighborhood schools. Help us create a stronger sense of neighborhood and community.
