4J used to have policy that children attended their neighborhood school and had to enter the lottery to choose another school. This seems counterproductive to require a 50% cap. Coburg families should be allowed to send their children to CCCS and allow the lottery to fill, if any, vacancies.

We battled the 4-J board while my daughter attended Coburg Elementary. Unfortunately we eventually lost our battle to keep the school open. I just don't understand why the board, all these years later and with a few different members, still doesn't seem to comprehend the importance of "our" school. Every Coburg child should have the opportunity to grow and learn with their "Coburg" extended family.

I am a Eugene resident with a child in the Coburg Charter School. Given the emphasis on the Coburg Community, it seems imperative to me that we continue to allow families of Coburg to continue to attend the school, and as we have nearly reached the 50% mark, we need to make the change soon. Of course I still want Eugene families to be able to attend, and they certainly will be able to attend, but this makes it fair to the people of the community as well.

As someone who has been actively watching for a home to pop up in Coburg, I would want to know that my future children are guaranteed the option of attending the closest school.

As the past Administrative Assistant and someone who was directly involved with the annual lottery for 4 years, this is only common sense. The Coburg Community proper SHOULD be able to send their children to it's LOCAL school. If it's about "community", then let the "community" enjoy what is their's. A cap on Coburg enrollment creates wasted time, energy and dollars trying to follow a guideline that truly does not benefit those who are paying their tax dollars for their LOCAL school but cannot reap the rewards. This seems unbalanced.

The Coburg Community Charter School has been championed by long-time Coburg residents for the purpose of maintaining a community school. Even without the cap, many students from outside Coburg would be able to attend, making the cap unnecessary. If established, the cap creates a bureaucratic limitation that will unnecessarily and inevitably foster bitterness toward the 4J District. Please consider eliminating the cap.

As a founding member of CCCS I along with many others will continue to spend countless hours supporting a Community School option for Coburg area residents. CCCS follows Oregon State Charter Laws . 4j District closed the ONLY school in our town. Our lawmakers and Governor addressed the need with HB3313. We simply ask 4j sponsoring District to support HB3313 (without a cap) so the greatest number of families who choose to apply to CCCS have the best possible opportunity send their child(ren), to their Community School.

My husband and I have an almost two year old son and another baby due to arrive in April. It has always been our hope that our children would have the opportunity to enroll in kindergarten at CCCS. It is our community school and is about one mile from our home. We can see the school from our backyard. I've seen parents walk their kids home after school gets out and always figured I, too, would be able to have that opportunity in the future. Please remove this unnecessary cap so that the children of Coburg can attend school in their community.

This is crucial since it literally is like our negborhood school. Being so close to the school makes it so much easier to be involved in all aspects of it. Plus we are so close with in our neighborhoods and would love our children to grow up together as we actively as a community help parent all of them .

Our small town is a close-knit community and having our local children bussed to Eugene makes no sense.

When we all went to the meetings not to lose our coburg school ,it was sit up for the coburg kids I thought,, it quickly changed. I have heard from many parents there kids were not excepted. Not right coburg kids first

Children should be allowed to grow up going to their hometown school with their hometown neighbor friends. This is what helps grow a strong and proud community.
