Allow ALL Coburg Families to attend Coburg Community Charter School

Coburg Community Charter should be considered a neighborhood school and as such Coburg residents should be allowed first before out of town residents.

I live 4 houses down and have signed up for 5 yrs straight each time and their excuses they lost my application and I had to re sign up. Not fair at all when they have people who live out of town like Elmira and other areas that go to this school and not let us in, or when people move in this town and their parents have money they are let in. A lot of lawyers, doctors, nurses kids go here and it just infuriates me when I have been denied 5 times straight. I give up, tired of fighting with them, my voice does not get heard, i am done with that school

It is important for children to attend school where they and their families have the opportunity to be in contact easily with their classmates and their families. For those outside Coburn who apply they are making a conscious and hopefully well thought out choice to attend a school further from their neighborhood. As a child who attended 6 different elementary schools, being near my new school and making new friends nearby was so important to my success.

It has always been very important to the residents of Coburg to have a school here. The children of Coburg deserve to go to a school in their community. They are our first priority and deserve the right to attend a Coburg school before any other children in outlying communities.

If you live in Coburg, you should be able to go to school there. I grew up in Coburg and was a graduate of Coburg Elementary 1999, I believe. Every kid deserves an education from the town school they love in.

It took us 5 years before our son was able to get into the school that is less than a mile and a half from our house.

My children went to Coburg before it was a Charter and we were apart of the efforts to keep it open as a Charter. This school has always been a Community School and the vision to keep it open was for the health of our Coburg Community. The children in that community should always be given priority.

The children that live in Coburg should be able to attend school there!

We moved to Coburg to increase our chances to get our son and daughter into Coburg Community Charter School. With the recent growth of Coburg, we are now facing the possibility of not getting our kids in despite living here.

One of the reasons we are moving to Coburg is for our 4 year old son to start the '20-'21 school year. We love the community and hope he can go to school with his neighborhood friends. We also want to work with our neighbors to provide after school care, etc. We also look forward to being a part of coburg charter as parents.

My children were coburg kids and went to that school. I believe coburg kids should automatically be able to attend their hometown school.

I went to Coburg elementary and started my teaching career there. I fully supported the idea of a charter school there knowing that Coburg kids would not have to be bussed to town when they were in elementary school. All Coburg kids should get priority and any spots left can go to the lottery.

Though my children are all grown, I fully support this, and plead with you to allow all the children of our small community to be a part of our community school!

My father went to Coburg Elementary, as did I, when it was still in the 4j district. I recently had a daughter and have always dreamed of sending her to Coburg school as well. While we are technically on Coburg Bottom Loop and not IN Coburg, we are still very much a part of this community and I really want my daughter to go to the school 1 mile from her house. Not be pushed out by a bunch of kids who live ten miles away that passed two other schools on their way here.

Why should families have to commute to eugene when there is a great school right here for our children?

I don’t have children at this time, but when I do, as A Coburg Resident, I would like my children to attend CCCS without restriction.
