As a graduate of a modern orthodox high school, I strongly support exposing students to diverse points of view on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Failure to do so is academic malpractice.

Freedom of speech is a fundamental rights. When schools ban certain points of view, they limit the ability of their students to form educated opinions. Ramaz is not inviting Khalidi - the students are. That's an important distinction that needs to be made. Keep up the good work!

I feel that this speaker should be permitted to speak specifically, and only, because he would be speaking to the Ramaz political discussion group. A speaker there most certainly does not need to represent our views, or even suggest that we tolerate them--just that we wish to discuss them. This is different than if it were a discussion of him speaking to Ramaz in a setting such as an assembly where it would be easier to construe it as an endorsement, or tolerance, of his views.
