Petition to deny the commercial development on 5363 and 5401 N. Big Hollow RD.
The undersigned hereby petition the County of Peoria to deny any development of the properties that are known as, 5363 and 5401 N. Big Hollow Rd. If this proposal is permitted, there are plans to destroy two homes, one farm, wildlife to construct a 34 unit condominium development. This community feels this proposal will increase traffic in the small neighborhood that has only one road access, create years of construction mess and noise for the quiet community, damage the roads during and after construction and adding more sewage and drainage problems to our area that already suffers from erosion issues. As residents in the neighborhood, we have adjusted to the commercial development "New Leaf", some have experiences theft from garages, barns and vehicles since it's development. This is a quiet, single-family home neighborhood, we as a community do not want to see it expand in a way that will disturb or alter it's current state. We feel there are different areas of Peoria that would be better fit for this project, such as the empty space behind Meadow view plaza, that has already been cleared for development, Or in the growth pockets expanding Peoria toward Dunlap, this is an established neighborhood in Peoria that would like to remain as it is.

I honestly never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it feels surreal that so many people actually care about our woods and our peace of mind. Every single notification that pops up on my phone just makes me feel a bit less crazy for wanting to keep our neighborhood quiet because it turns out there are a lot of us who just want to keep things the way they are. I am so overwhelmed by the support and even though the planning committee is probably going to be annoyed by us I think we have actually started something real here.

The future plan for this land would be to develop an urban farmstead which would be a valuable economic, cultural, and educational resource for the local community. Due to the location and proximity to the city of Peoria, and the current farming development that is already underway, I encourage Peoria county to oppose commercial development in this area.
An apartment in this location is absurd! Listen to the locals & keep this neighborhood the way it is!
More farms are needed ;condos crammed into a neighborhood destroying quality of life is not.
This farm needs to stay exactly where it is! Our community needs this farm to thrive, our generations to come have so much to learn in way of sustainability, and losing the ONLY public farm in Peoria would be a sad loss for our future growth.
Urban roots farming deserves to keep the land to help bring good to this community. She's put in a lot of good hard work and plans to expand to help the community. Putting in crappy condos will only bring in low income druggies who don't care about the land as much. Plus pushing wildlife our of their homes creating more potential accidents for drivers. Why does every ounce of peoria need to be consumed by real estate? I vote no for condos.

The traffic on Big Hollow is bad enough without adding 34 more units. This is a quiet area and it needs to stay that way. No more construction messes!
