I understand the pandemic is tiring, and it seems that it should be over but I can most definitely say it is not. With friends & family all over the world it's very real and although the response isn't to go to remoteearning, masking is because who knows where everyone travels.

In my office, unvaccinated employees are required to wear masks. It seems to me the same should apply to kids in school.

In a statement, Gov. Pritzker said, “School districts that choose to disregard this guidance not only are putting students and staff at risk, but also taking on extraordinarily expensive liability.” If health and safety aren’t enough to sway people perhaps fear of litigation is.

American Academy of Pediatrics just recommended children above the age of 2 should be wearing masks in school this fall, even if they are vaccinated.

unvaccinated are at too great a risk to unmask. Wait until all children are eligible for vaccination and then re-evaluate the mask policy. For now, masks must stay.

Students and all family members eligible to get vaccinated should to enter school. Because we can’t mandate that, we put the livelihoods of those who did the right thing and got the shot at risk of losing another year of school and activities.
