We need to help local businesses stay afloat in this terrible economy. Keeping the side pathways/roads traffic free so that people can sit outside is good for so many reasons: less pollution/fumes in these areas, helps out local businesses, creates better sense of community/atmosphere. If anything, more of Sevenoaks should be pedestrianised, not less.

Allowing the addition of outside tables and chairs has made a huge difference and gives the town a centre. I am sure it provides more trade to the businesses concerned. Please allow it to become a permanent feature.

The road closure is fantastic for businesses and customers, it should stay.

There's absolutely no reason why this road closure shouldn't be permanent. In times where the high street is suffering, we should be doing absolutely everything we can to help local businesses. The cost quoted for permanent closure is a drop in the ocean compared to other local spending which arguably has less benefit and would be extremely beneficial long term for businesses.
