Seeking a Safer Off-road Walking and Cycling Route Between Bairnsdale and Paynesville

Seems like a good idea to me. It's a good ride and we need to be safe. We pay the highest rates in Victoria. Come on EGSC. Do this please.

This is such a brilliant proposal. A safe walking and cycling track between the 2 towns would benefit locals and tourists alike.

Don’t wait until someone is killed

Apart from the requirement for a cycle / walking track, the condiction of the Paynesville Road is disgraceful, given the numbers of people now living permanently in the area.

A bike track off the road (similar to Merimbula/Pambula) would be great. And would be an asset to our towns, increase tourism, we have such a lovely area to ride around. • please note, I can’t see the point in making the road a little wider in places for cyclist, the stones build up on the side of the road, then the cyclist just ride on the road any way.... extremely frustrating for car drivers.

With the minimum distance between cars and bikes now wider and law dedicated bike tracks are now more important than ever.

Such a beautiful area but way too dangerous to be cycling without something being done. I think it would help tourism too.

If nothing else, at least a bicycle lane on the road…

A bike track along the river from Eagle Point all the way to Bairnsdale would be a wonderful asset for the area.

Current roads are too dangerous to ride. Off-road path is badly needed.

Yes we absolutely need more and better riding tracks/roads

If this cycle path existed I’d use it regularly. No way I’d risk the current road.

Spending money on bike path instead of those ridiculous metal eye sores, that cause nothing but danger, would have been a smart move. Hope you have enough foresight on this issue to see the need and also widen the road for all these new subdivisions going on. Surely there is now more money in the coffers to start before all of those blocks have houses. The speed that some people travel along the Paynesville road at moment is going to cause major accidents from people getting frustrated behind them and trying to pass.....80 and less is to slow to travel the road! Hope you can understand the importance of this.... Look at Pakenham. Berwick they are now fixing road after it’s populated and we are effected by having to take buses at the moment! Big picture...... please.

This would be a great boost for tourism in the area and provide a safe option for families and others to enjoy some physical exercise.

It's so dangerous for the bike riders and drivers, people get frustrated and there's going to be a fatality one day.
