As a handcyclist (due to spinal injury), I do not feel safe cycling on main roads and this would give cycling access to the local rail-trails.

A dedicated bike lane is required as public transport between Paynesville and Bairnsdale is non existent and makes it difficult to commute between the two towns if you do not have a car. With ebikes and escooters becoming more of an alternative source of transport given increasing fuel prices, the shire should be more proactive to the shifting transport needs of the populous and the environmental impact of cars. As a property owner in Raymond Island, I fully support more initiatives for bike friendly infrastructure!!
