I lived in the Ashley Hall Plantation neighborhood from birth in 1985 until 2006. I loved growing up in that neighborhood! I remember riding my bike along Captiva Row and peering through the gate to AH Plantation into what seemed like a lost, forgotten world to me. I remember hearing the name Sherman for the first time as I sat on the steps to nowhere. My young brain couldn't fathom why someone would burn down other people's homes, much less their own home!I thought for sure the person was telling me a tale. (I quickly ran away as I was scared that I would get in trouble for going behind the gate. Not only is the history important to preserve, but also the way-of-life and integrity of the surrounding neighborhoods. Adding that much traffic to those small streets will be disastrous.

Does historic preservation only apply to downtown? Ashley Hall Plantation is a historic West Ashley landmark!

Soon there will be nothing left of this state's heritage. We have had enough development. Over-development has had a huge negative impact on this state - a few get very wealthy while the environment is ruined.

Plantation land should not be compromised in favor of overbuilding. West Ashley maintains its beauty only if we protect it. The roads cannot handle a housing development in this area, as traffic is already intense as-is, and inviting in more will only lead to more accidents and delays that we long-time residents cannot afford.

I would hate to see this area destroyed. We already have so much traffic on Ashley Hall Plantation Rd. I can't imagine another neighborhood being added.
Let them go farther out..maybe the plantation out on 61 would have enough acreage for about 60 homes. Why is this place not preserving while the others are.?
Please don't destroy this neighborhood..!

The roads won't be able to handle the traffic. It would kill the appeal of the existing neighborhood.

Save that exquisite historic property and ancient oaks from being destroyed by developers. We must preserve history and gorgeous landmarks for our future generations to enjoy.
