It is one thing for an institution to hold to its beliefs and values, but entirely another to discriminate against and to continue to devalue the uniqueness and value of all individuals. This issue, like that of slavery and the basic rights of women, will win in the end. In this age of radical extremism, It is a shame that Asbury is not at the forefront to discuss these issues openly and to embrace individual differences even if it fundamentally disagrees theologically.

I witnessed so many of my classmates suffer discrimination for their orientation (or perceived orientation) at the hands of Asbury. I would love to see Asbury change its stance on discrimination and love everyone equally.

I am happy to sign my name to anything that may help bring change to this university's outdated and misguided policies.

I know a few people who attended Asbury and I wholeheartedly agree with this petition.
