If he did not have a deadly weapon then why was one used on him? We have security to provide physical restrain until the patient can have medical or pharmacological restraint.

There is no excuse for not seeking information from family in the evaluation of a patient in an emergency situation. There is no excuse for violence in managing agitation.

We all should know family is our best way to get a patients baseline status. It's inexcusable they didn't seek out and listen to his family.

I am not a medical professional, but I don't think you need to be one to determine that this is an outrageous and tragic situation. How low have we sunk as a society to think that shooting someone in distress is OK. I am I'm shocked and disbelief!
