I am a Canadian living in Germany,
it is with horror I watch the police thugs commit their crimes against those they are under OATH to protect!
It is with wander why so few good colored and well trained man who served in the armed forces of the USA, can stand by and do nothing.
This is a problem wich could be solved in less than a month.
But it cannot be done the Ghandi way!
The increase of violence by cops against the colored public are a clear sign that Slavery is still alive and well in the USA!
You do not have to pick cotton to be a SLAVE:
You only have to submit to your taskmasters to fill that role.
I rest my case, I am white, herting for my black brethren of the HUMAN RACE!

My prayers Of healing for healing for Alan & his family. If any positive can come from this I hope this places a spotlight on our severely lacking mental health care system. This should NEVER EVER have occurred! As a Registered Nurse I am shocked to hear of a hospital using deadly force on a patient, unacceptable! I pray Alan recovers from this brutality & gets the help he originally was seeking. Dr. Pean know you and your family are supported.

Things like this are completely uncalled for and starts to show that going to the hospital may be more dangerous than staying home.

As long as those with, presumed to have, or accused of having a mental illness or mental health issues can be used to call their character into question and/or justify mistreatment and marginalization of them - - and their needs, opinions, experiences and issues, we will not have parity - - and they will be denied the dignity, respect, aid and grace they are entitled to as human beings.

The entire world, aided by an insensitive, cruel, intolerant, dismissive, blame-the-v9ctim/"blame itr all on mental illness" and adversarial-tempered medical system has failed - - and infact, has contributed to the torture, torment and abuse of those accused of or who are suffering from a mental illness.

This is not permissible nor excusable! Inside an hospital! AND even if he indeed had a so-called "combative" attitude (because he was having a crisis, he was SICK!!!) they mean to tell me there was no other way to control this young man than shot him??? Really???

This is but one, particularly outrageous, example of the deteriorating state of medical care in general, and mental illness care in particular, in our country. What will it take for society at large to realize that it is good for ALL of us to care for the vulnerable among us.

A similar situation is occurring now with my ex-husband. He is bipolar and was charged with assault on a public servant as the family called the officers in Arlington tx to get help in transporting him to a psych facility. EMS was waiting and he scared the officers who then tased him and charged him with Assault on a Public Servant. And took him to jail. He was not medicated at all for over a month. It has been a battle ever since.

Firearms have no place in hospital security! By allowing their security officers to be armed, this institution deserves to be sued and those officers need to be criminally charged.

The medical community, especially administrators, should be held accountable for the outrageous treatment this patient and all his family members have been subjected to. Legislative change may have to be enacted and enforced to force the courts and law enforcement system to respect mentally ill people and get them humane treatment.

This story is beyond a doubt the worst that human medicine has to offer. The shooter should be prosecuted and jailed. The hopsital is guilty of malpractice and needs punishment. Texas and the USA need to start addressing and funding mental health issues.

An unacceptable HORROR story that should NEVER happen again.
