The road condition is beyond a joke. I very nearly had a serious accident doing 50mph down it on my bike last summer with loose gravel in perfect dry conditions. I'd also add that the surface from the bridge by Settlebeck School up to Longstone Common would not be fit for a horse and cart 200 years ago.

my cousins daughter was involved in an accident on this road. She is an experienced driver and feels the road surface is dangerous as there have been numerous accidents on this stretch. I would like the council to make this resurfacing work a priority before someone is killed.

There is something not right about this road. When will the Council realise this ? Surely every crash cant be because of bad driving !!

I crashed here a few months ago, flipping my car 4 times. There are so many crashed here, what is it going to take to get it sorted?

urgently needs resuficing before someone looses there life, I have comuted to Sedbergh twice a week and have encountered a car crash on every journey, several vehicles ending up on there rooof, this is a urgent road that needs re surfacing.

Someone should speak to the contractors who laid this stretch of road. The Council were told by the men working on the job that the material was wrong. The Council KNEW this but still insisted that the contractors laid the wrong material. Whether the contractor or his men would want to agree that now is a different matter as they will not want to rule themselves out of further contract work by openly going against the Council.

Strongly agree this road needs resurfacing, I lost control of my vehicle on this road in January 2013 traveling under the speed limit wrote my new car off after only getting it 2 days earlier.

Recently counted 7 holes in the dry wall before these were repaired, yet again. There appear to be particular blackspots where multiple crashes occur. There is also still water running across the road, despite Mr Farron's efforts to persuade Cumbria County Council that this is not acceptable.

It seems there is an incident on this section most weeks with plenty of evidence of the remains of cars on the grass verge. So far everyone has been very lucky, just yesterday a group of us pulled a lady free who again was not travelling fast, she could have been severely injured. The road should be be resurfaced with a harsher Tarmac on this section.
