Resurfacing of the A40 Raglan-Abergavenny road by Welsh Government

I live the closest to the a40 at The Bryn there is constant noise throughout the year but especially in the summer months. It is not a pleasure to sit in the garden when traffic is roaring past all day. We use the smaller front bedroom to escape the noise during the night.

Road noise dreadful 24/7. all day and every day. wind direction often makes it worse. Small fence would be ineffective, inappropriate and waste of money. Whole road need resurfacing in "whisper tarmac", and quickly

The road noise is horrendous and affects me all day and night. I have trouble sleeping at night due to the noise even with the double glazed windows closed. It is time to get the road resurfaced now as it is getting worse.

The noise from the A40 is getting worse year by year as the volume of traffic increases. If the people who made these decisions had to live with the noise from the road day and night, the problem would have been dealt with long ago. The road resurfacing needs to be done now!

With the improvements to the heads of the valley road (A465) traffic volume is set to increase on the old concrete road increasing the road noise further. I also believe that the original expected life of the surface has been exceeded.

We can hear the road in Bryngwyn. The area has a lot of road noise, and any help in reducing it would benefit all people in the local community.

Please make this a priority.

I live a mile outside Raglan and the noise level is particularly loud, especially if the wind is blowing toward us.

We are sandwiched between the A40 & B4598,and the traffic noise on the A40 makes it dangerous to access the B4598 where our view is restricted.

Traffic is heard over this surface all day. and night.

A known poor design originally, lets get it right this time. Improve the environment for everyone.

Resurfacing this part of the A40 will provide a better quality of life for those that live near the road.

This road is very noisy at the moment. It will be worse when the Heads of the Valleys link to the Midlands is completed. So those who live near the A40 between Raglan and Abergavenny will have a deterioratinq quality of life unless steps are taken soon to resurface this road.

So loud, can't escape the noise

I have lived underneath a flight path of Heathrow airport as well as living very near to the A40. As such, I truly believe that the A40 is far more disturbing given the constant noise that it creates.
