Noise from the A40 is a significant issue affecting the quality of life of many Raglan residents. Whisper surfacing and/or acoustic fencing is essential.

I have been supporting local residents for the past eight years and fully back their campaign for the A40 to be renewed with whisper asphalt. I recently visited The Bryn and was struck by the noise as soon as I got out of my car. I am trying to find out how much modern whisper concrete costs per mile, as I'm not convinced by the financial arguments being used by the Welsh Government to avoid resurfacing work.

My family home is effect by the noise, most days the noise is so loud it makes it impossible to ignore, causes stress when you are in the garden.

The noise on this road will increase when the work on the Heads of the Valleys link road to the Midlands is completed making the quality of life for those who live near it unsustainable.

Resurfacing the A449 alongside Llantrisant helped the local residents considerably.

The A40 Raglan to Abergavenny is unacceptably noisy. Due to the heavy road use the noise is an ever-present irritant throughout the entire evening and night as well as through the day. Modern surfacing materials makes this quite unnecessary.

The road has been identified as a priority following a pan-Wales consultation. Given the strength of responses to the original consultation, and that this led to the road's inclusion in the action plan, this road need prioritisation for whispering tarmac. It is a noise as well as safety issue with many people noting the surface is particularly poor for towing vehicles.

The noise disturbance from the A40 Raglan to Abergavenny disturbs local residents 365 days of the year and 24/7, this cannot be acceptable!!

This road surface will get used more heavily once The Heads of the Valley road is widened further on.
Logically, it will need to be resurfaced soon and so it would be sensible to resurface it properly rather than use lightweight temporary measures.
