I grew up in Acton, having a pool in our high school was extremely valuable to my classmates and I. For the kids who didn't know how to swim, we had a possibly lifesaving semester of swimming in gym class, for the rest of us we improved our strokes and got to experience a really fun gym class. ABRHS had both swim and diving teams right at the school-no need to travel for home pool, I'm sure you're already aware of the benifits of team sports for teenagers so I won't get into it... I just can't imagine any future kids my husband and I may have not having the exposure and opportunity to be a part of something that I loved when growing up just a few towns away.

The new AHS would be a great opportunity for a pool. Even if it passes us by, we should still deliberately look for a location and means to fund an Arlington pool.

Great idea! My hometown in NY did a similar capital improvement to add a beautiful pool to a high school renovation and it is a great part of the community now.

Please build a pool in A-Town AND also make it available to the community when not being used by the kids/teams or make a couple of lanes available for laps.
