Tom is a great author and storyteller. I have great early childhood memories of him showcasing his talent and the art of storytelling while at summer camp.

i love Tom Frye's book, and would love to see Scratchin on the eight ball as a movie. Tom's books are wonderful to read. i dont read much but his books i love to read. MY sister lives out of state and when Tom has a new book we buy one for her and send it to her, or when she comes to town we call Tom to see if he has new ones she can buy while she is here. we also have multiple copies in our house, my father has his own copy and i have mine. You would not be wrong to make this into a movie.

8-Ball would finally be the young adult movie that kids today need. The book deals with tough issues without patronizing kids, but shows them there is hope at the edge of darkness and help along the way.

I have always jokingly said that whoever has a signed copy of Scratchin' on the Eight Ball will get into the Joyo Theater for free when the movie ever plays there. I will more than likely have to honor that pledge one day, but hey. that would be a nice problem to have!
