Instead of owning one of the most beautiful, stately and unique old homes in Greenwich they are opting for yet another new, glutinous McMansion. What does that say about their character? Imagine throwing this house into a landfill. Why bother recycling another thing after this account.

Isn't one of the charms of Greenwich the lovely historical homes ? WHY would you choose to replace a masterpiece of craftmenship with an overdone, overblown, nouveau riche example of conspicuous consumption?
Please reconsider your decision, and keep the beauty and history of a place like Hobby Horse Farm intact.

Just because one has the money doesn't mean they have carte blanche to destroy the architectural heritage and aesthetics of a community.
Preserve the past; have them buy a vacant piece of land elsewhere and build new.
