Changing the outer appearance will do nothing to strengthen the 4th Degree Knights. Please don't force the new uniform on them.

Obviously, they anticipated that the majority of 4th degree knights would not be in favor of changing or they would have solicited the membership!

The regalia is not the reason why younger knights are not joining. Men are not joining anything now days.

The 4th Degree is supposed to be the visible arm of the Knights of Columbus. This new unform is one step towards anonimity. Keep the current regalia.

The new regalia is a nice suit, but not a dress uniform that can be considered regalia. Come up with something better, and give the 4th degree a say so in the matter.
Until then, maintain the well respected and magnificent symbol of the 4th Degree.

I have been a Sir Knight for 18 years and have worn the Regalia with pride. In community functions even the non -Catholics recognize and respect our tradition. I remember the Sir Knights participation in church activities when I was a small child. I was drawn to the regalia.
I'm not sure what the change is really about. You claim it is to attract younger members, I wander if it is to get rid of older members.

Stay with our present regalia. And allow either outfit to be worn, including having both in the same honor guard (...perhaps for ten years...).

I do not wish to look like a boy scout in a uniform that has no real identity. A little patch that is not visible from the back of the room means nothing. No real recognition. The current regalia covers all the points of officers to newcomers. Please let us not destroy a beautiful impression that is recognized by children, families, parishioners, that are identified as great men that are leaders in thier parish.

As former Commander of Assembly #3551, Our Lady Of Perpetual Help, this news greatly distresses me. The idea that a change would increase participation in the H.G. is ludicrous. Obviously, the symbolism of our Regalia is not understood by those wanting to change, and that is a shame. The long standing tradition of not only our Regalia, but the meaning of our participation in liturgical marches should be embraced, not removed. If this change becomes a reality, I will no longer march in this order that I love so much.
