as a member for over 50 years, membership should be consulted when changes like this are being made. The current dress code provides distinction and is welcomed in our community.

Jasper Msgr. Wernsing Assembly 251 held a meeting and at this time 49 Knights want to be included on the petition to retain the current regalia while 1 voted for the change and 2 abstained. I think the proposed change is just wrong.I've read the posts on how the younger men welcome it. >but what about us older,well-seasoned seniors whose days are numbered. It's not fair we should shell out so much with so little time left.It's just not.

My husband has been a 4th degree member since 2000, and is just wondering if you have considered the impact the mandatory new uniforms may have upon some councils whose 4th degree members are age 70 and above. I feel most will be hesitant at this point in their lives to spend $400.-600. on a new uniform when they have already spent that much and more on tuxes, capes, chapeaus, etc. And the discounted price is only good through September of this year, while the old uniform can be worn through June of 2018...many may want to save money but are not sure if they will still be alive by July of next year. This can result in having no 4th Degree to be present as requested by the priest for various events. Our group has only two or three younger members, and they have just purchased the current uniform within the last year or two, and would likely be reluctant to put out the money for the new one so soon. It is not likely there is a market for used capes, chapeaus, etc. to resell in order to recover costs of new uniforms. Additionally, we do not believe that it is the look of the uniform itself that has kept the membership low. This idea should have been presented to all the councils for feedback before "Hurricane Change" decision was made and sent out to all!

I want Our Savior Jesus Christ to take my position as Faithful Captain. I wonder if Supreme Council would say Our Lord would have to buy a new Knights of Columbus 4th Degree regalia?? If so, I would be honored to have Our Lord in our military funeral honor guard at no cost!!

Our Assembly helps recruit 1st degree and has good education about each degree. Every 4th degree recruits are told regalia not required, but like myself 10 years later they may want to obtain. It is Voluntary with many used uniforms available.
Regalia should be retained.

A couple of years ago, I saw on EWTN the Knights of Columbus during their convention in Canada, and I did my research and later decided to join. I am a 4th degree member and I enjoy the old tradition regalia. The Knights of Columbus are known around the world for their charity work and they are spotted and known for their regalia and chapeau. Please reconsider not changing the tradition and regalia. Thank you.

Changing regalia is a bad idea.
