Not appropriate for Carthage Central School. Shame on the school since majority of the students are military. Very insensitive.

Paints US military in a bad light, this may be a true story but this is NOT appropriate for young children. This is brainwashing liberal propaganda remove it from the school curriculum

Our children are already exposed to a lot of junk and they surely don't this to be a part of their required reading.

This is not something a 3rd grader should learn about from a teacher.

My son had a hard time wrapping his little head around this book. We talked about it at dinner. The world we live in is already hard enough for an 8 year old to get a grasp on then we add this. Hos father who served the army for 22 years couldn't believe it.

I don’t mind other points of views. I actually think they’re great to learn from but I think this isn’t a book for my third grader.

This isn't something I would want read to my kids at school. Parents should be the ones to read/discuss this kind of thing with their kids, not teachers. Please remove it from curriculum!

As much as I believe that children should be taught new concepts while they are in school this book is NOT something that I believe 3rd graders (a great amount having parents who are employed by the U.S Military ) should be being read. At the very least warn the parents that this book (which has sparked NATIONAL CONTROVERSY) was going to be read aloud in class.

The children should not go through this. This is not a place for this book. If parents want their children to here this they should read it to them. Not in school and not to a third grader!
