It’s a pleasure to introduce myself, for those who I haven’t had the honor of meeting my name is Brittany Crego and I am running for the position of 3L Single JD Secretary for the 2022-2023 school year.

My tenure at UDM has been an experience that I aim to carry with me throughout my professional career. The opportunities I have had to connect with individuals spanning several socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds have prepared me to not only represent our students, but also approach the world of law with an expanded worldview. In addition to being involved in the Black Law Student Association I have had the opportunity to work directly on the fundraising committee, helping organize one of our most successful events to date, our Vegas Night. I intend to integrate the things I have learned within this group to other great organizations throughout UDM law, creating a fully encompassing experience for our community. If given the opportunity, I will commit to making the 2022-2023 school year one that will not be forgotten.

I pride myself on seeing the best of any situation, this journey has presented several hardships however, I believe it is the most difficult times that reveal our character. Most importantly I am willing to help others if they fall upon tough times, the family aspect is what initially caught my attention when considering UDM law, and I hope to continue the strong tradition that I have grown to love.

I hope that if nothing else, the current situation of the world has taught us to appreciate each day we are given and to make the most of the moment we are in. If given the honor to be 3L Single JD Secretary, it will be my highest priority to make sure the voices of our classmates are heard; working in cohesion with the other elected officers to ensure organization and student voices are heard with the highest valor. To me, being elected means more than just a title, but instead it means the opportunity to represent a student body that has the chance to change the landscape of our future. I hope to bridge the gap between students and our class officials to ensure the voices of UDM law are heard.

I know that with the support of my classmates I will be able to adequately fulfill the duties of 3L Single JD Secretary. I appreciate the consideration of me for the position, and I know with the collaboration of my fellow board members we will make 2022-2023 a year no one will forget.
