​Petition to Make the Temporary Stoplight at the Intersection of France Ave S and W 39th Street Permanent

Please make this a permanent stoplight, it makes drivers look up from their phones and pay attention!

I remember that back during the 1980s there was a fatal accident at that intersection; can't remember whether the fatality was a pedestrian or a driver. ... Possibly relevant: once the BRT E-line opens, in 2025, buses will no longer be on 39th nor France at that spot.

We need lights at this intersection!

I live a block away and the stop light is a much needed safety improvement.

This has been a bright spot during all of the road construction in the area. As a pedestrian, crossing France Ave has always been a huge challenge except during the time the temporary lights have been up.

Please make this stoplight permanent. It has had a positive effect on traffic speed on France & pedestrian safety. It also makes it much easy (and safer) for a metro bus to make a left turn onto France Ave.

When biking it is very difficult to cross France Ave. there are too many cars and they go too fast. It’s very scary and I now there have been many cars accidents too
