Please keep the bike lanes off 31st St. It is congested enough with the El pillars. Creating a bike lane will make driving or running a business on that corridor a nightmare.

Very bad idea. Too much of this already. Scooters and mopeds illegally use them to weave in and out of traffic. Already hard to turn because of el train pillars.

Similar concept was implemented on 20th Avenue, from 31st street to the park(?). Guess where people still ride their bikes? Not in the bike lane, as much as the sidewalk on the north side.

Bikes can use the road just like any other vehicle, common sense is all is needed from car drivers and bikers. No bike lane can prevent an accident except if there are steel bars protecting it. This is all about business, tickets and more tickets and bikers don’t pay any dues like the rest of us and don’t obey traffic laws, so what are you talking about here?

Cyclists don’t even use bike lanes. It has already negatively impacted Astoria residents with reduced parking spots and other obstacles. This will negatively impact small businesses. Businesses already have so many things to deal with and this shouldn’t be one of them.

It’s hard enough to get to work in the mornings with the horrible traffic but to narrow the streets more to accommodate a bike lane is absurd. I’ll never get to work on time.

Born and raised in Astoria. Still frequently go to see family. That area has alot of trucks. Having a bike lane will increase the danger for cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers. From a person born and raise out there in Astoria who loves to watch others. I can promise you this will make it dangerous. And congested so less people will actually want to be around there.

They shld pay for a lic and insurance, If they want special care they shld get speeding ticket and any other tickets us drivers get. STOP THe BIKE LANE this is NoT China
