31st Street Businesses and Citizens Against the 31st Street Protected Bike Lane System

When various subway stations were closed in 2017 - 2018, many of us relied on the Q102 bus to get to Queens Plaza and morning rush hour was awful. Traffic is already congested on 31St Street and a bike lane will exacerbate the problem.

Was nearly run over by a bike on Northern BL and 48 St who blew the light. Biker had the nerve to use profanity as if it were my fault! Disrespectful! Where are the police?

Put the bike lane along with train line, when the train’s late ppl can grab a citi bike. The busy crowded streets can’t take any more load.

As a lifelong astoria resident I want to state that a bike lane in no way, shape or form belongs on 31st street under the subway ! Not only is this a very busy section, there is NO SPACE! The person responsible for all the traffic changes, bike lanes, parking etc is making a mess and creating more traffic, more rage, more problems

Very dangerous to add bike lanes. Overcrowded streets & small business would suffer.

If safety is a concern, how about making it illegal for cyclists to ride without helmets, proper lighting, and to be ticketed for going thru red lights, cutting in front of vehicles, etc. The punishing of our businesses must stop and will not end with this petition. Vote Gianaris, Constantinides, Van Bramer etc. OUT.

I’m tired of cyclists being treated better than drivers. They don’t pay the road use and gas taxes that drivers pay, but get favored treatment. And 31st St may be the worst street in all of NYC for bike lanes. Stop the madness!

31st Street bike lanes are a bad idea, both unnecessary & dangerous.

parking in Astoria is already hard enough. Please keep 31st street which is one of the most crowded streets in this neighborhood the way it is.

It will put my two business on 31st out of business It will stop the now legal delivery daily of goods and services to the entire community!!!!!!!!!

Parking is already horrendous in our neighborhood. This will exacerbate this issue further. As a cyclist myself I feel that it is safer to use the Vernon Blvd bike path, not a major thoroughfare along a subway line.

Please stop thuis. Not needed. Use the ones on 21st St.

Local politicians are obsessed with these bicyclists. Within this plan they also want to turn Crescent St. into one driving lane to accommodate a two-way biker lane. Insane. Vote them out of their offices.

Bike Lanes are a terrible idea there. It is way too busy and congested there which would put bikers and pedestrians at risk. Plus why are we catering to the few who can only use it a few months out of the year?

No bike lanes on 31st and 31st!!
