31st Street Businesses and Citizens Against the 31st Street Protected Bike Lane System

These lanes will make an already congested area so much worse and put multiple people, to include cyclists and pedestrians at risk. They have already ruined Astoria Park with these lanes, stop affecting small businesses. Astoria is becoming a nightmare to live in/commute around. I am a life long Astorian and looking to move . Y'all are making it impossible to live here and are ruining a great neighborhood.

I fully support this petition not only for the business owners but the safety of cars, bicyclists and pedestrians concerns me greatly.

It’s is not safe to put bicycle lanes on that street . It’s enough that we have to watch for pedestrians jaywalking and dodge other cars who double park and to watch for bikes !? That’s too much . Astoria has changed for the worse !!

Traffic on 31st street is very congested. Adding a bike lane will push the parked cars closer to the moving traffic which would make it very dangerous for the driver to exit his or her vehicle into the oncoming traffic. In addition local businesses with extremely high rents in the area would get a significant drop in business If we are to support small business and safety of people in general a bike lane on 31st Street is counterintuitive

This proposal does not make sense. Just like the bike lane on 20th ave didn't make any sense. 20th avenue is a kill zone for people parking there. The cars trucks are racing through mid day and if you have a child it is almost impossible to open a door being in the middle of the street. Also there is hardly a cyclist on that road.. Please don't endanger more people and businesses.

Car is freedom, like America. Everyone should have car so everyone know difficulty for parking, then only then will more parking become available. Buy car now get parking yeah!

If the owners of this petition TRULY KNOW that parking trucks on 31st street is CAUSE for ACCIDENTS then SOLVE THAT PROBLEM first before complaining about BIKE LANES. REMOVE PARKING FOR CARS SO TRUCKS CAN ADEQUATELY PARK ON THE STREET WITHOUT OBSTRUCTING A BIKE LANE, OR, PUT THE BIKE LANE INSIDE THE PARKING LANE SO IF A TRUCK DOUBLE PARKS IT WILL BE BLOCKING VEHICULAR TRAFFIC INSTEAD THAT'S ONLY FAIR, RIGHT? GFY FFS!!
