I live about a mile and a half north of this space without sufficient sound barriers and it sounds like the highway is in my backyard. The noise is reflected from the existing barriers and funnels into the space where there is no protection, making it exponentially louder. Please fix this now, so many neighborhoods in Sandy Springs are adversely impacted.

I lay in my bed at night and hear the highway every night and morning - and I live a mile from the highway at 190 Stewart Drive. The noise comes from 285 and Lake Forest and not from 285 and Roswell Road. Extend the noise wall along the entire inside perimeter of 285.

Most of 285 on the Northside from 75 to 400 deserve some sort of barrier from the noise the enormous amount of trucks make.

We need this sound barrier. It is unacceptable to think this is the only neighborhood on 285 that has no barrier. It is not the neighborhoods fault that it was planned after you DOT started planning for the barrier.

Greetings. I live on Allen Road and the noise on 285 (aside from the construction, which is of course loud) continues to get louder and louder. I keep earplugs handy by the bed at night, since my room faces I285. I’ve heard my neighbors also raising concern over the noise levels. Standard operational procedure for review of the noise levels and implementation of industry standard noise reduction for residential areas adjacent to interstate highway should be applied for the area of I285 between Roswell Road and Lake Forrest Drive.

The sound barrier here is a must. Please prioritize this, especially as other sections already have the barrier set up! And please finish the overall project already!

The noise from the street is clearly a a major distraction especially as most people are working from home and conducting meetings.

As an Atwater resident, I would relish a sound barrier to be constructed on the
I-285 section running past our homes. What a positive difference then we would all experience while living at Atwater.

As a sleep scientist, the scientific evidence is clear that noise pollution leads to impacted sleep and clinical reductions in mental health, cognitive functioning and lifespan.
As a new father, the fact that DOT is relying on outdated sound studies that don't represent the reality on the ground means that my 3YO daugther and newborn son will have higher likelihood of having an impacted life.
Choosing not to build the barrier now is a choice to hurt children and adults in our community. We cannot let this stand.

Please build the sound barrier! The traffic noise is so loud, we cannot enjoy our outdoor space. Thank you for your consideration

This is absolutely necessary. The noise from 285 at all hours of the day and night is ridiculous, and the express lanes will only add to that. Not having a sound barrier wall will absolutely effect our home values.
