I truly don't believe FPC would cancel vs reschedule these milestones for their 2020 graduating class! BUT petitioning sure can't hurt to ensure our voices of support are heard and known. ❤

If our future generation are not shown appreciation for their education accomplishments what message are we their adults sending them? Accomplishments aren’t rewarded? That would be wrong. School administrators need to find a way to allow a high school prom and the graduation ceremony this year!!!

All students that have achieved this point in time should not be deprived of the benefits that they have earned i.e. a Prom and their actual graduation ceremony.

I hope Flagler County Schools sees and considers this petition. It may be small in comparison to what is happening in our world with the Coronavirus. Although I fully support what our schools and country are doing to keep us safe, I hope that when making decisions during this time of uncertainty our school board considers the importance of these milestones for our seniors. These events should be rescheduled rather than canceled if deemed necessary. We are a small town. Many of these students grew up together. Senior prom and graduation are their last memories of high school. Memories that they have worked hard for and earned. I appreciate everything that Flagler County Schools has done for my child and I know that they have our kids best interest at heart. We just ask that they please consider the class of 2020 and the importance of these important milestones when making decisions about our school calendar for the remainder of the year. Please reschedule rather than canceling these events.

My son just like his classmates has worked hard his whole school career to get to this point and it would be unjustified for our school district to dismiss his hard work in the name of Coronavirus. This too shall pass and these kids should have their day to shine in front of family and friends. This is a once in a life time memory.

They came into the world post 9/11, an endless expensive war, endured several mass shootings and now a pandemic where they (and others in the service industry) are "essential" employees on the front lines for our comfort and convenience (without hazard duty pay). Yet, we are even going to discuss cancelling THEIR moment?
They deserve THIS...to walk, to show their friends and families their success even while the world around them has been chaos. Whether it is at the beach, the football field, town center in a dang parade they deserve this!
These kids are going to change the world...I hope you are all here to see it
