Changing graduation takes time kids going straight to the work force have to find a job or start the orientation process. For those going on to school it takes time they could use to make money for when they leave to go off to school.

A later graduation takes away a weeks pay that our children could have earned toward their college funds. Or from students seeking fulltime jobs after graduation!

Make graduation the Friday before Memorial day or the Friday after. It doesn't matter, it just shouldn't be on a Sunday.

We have a lot of out of town family that are planning on attending and we are having party on that Saturday it would be nice if we could show off a diploma.

They are about to be starting their transition to adult life, graduating early is a great break and mental break before that all starts. Not to mention summer jobs start around memorial day as well. It mirrors getting out early in college as well. Plus, high school graduation is a huge accomplishment, reward them.

Graduation on Memorial weekend worked great for my family when my first one graduated because my family is from out of town and state, (and our family isn’t the only)having graduation on a Sunday wouldn’t suffice for for anyone especially if extended family has to travel, Monday is a work day for 99% of the community, do you really want to make 100-200 students make this huge compromise for maybe 1/2 dozen students that MIGHT go to state? Is that really fair?

I feel that graduation date should stay the same, the kids usually get at least a Friday before Easter off and Monday after Easter off. So that’s 4 days for a “spring break”. Graduation being earlier than the rest of the school getting out gives these graduating kids time to get themselves ready for life after school.
