I have been in contact with several members of the administration regarding the impact of these exam changes on the current senior class. While there has been no formal change in policy yet, the discussions regarding the feasibility of this transition remain ongoing.

The momentum behind this petition highlights a collective desire for fairness regarding the upcoming exam policy. It is clear that many students value the opportunity to maintain the current exemption standards. I am currently preparing to present these signatures to the administration to discuss the transition plan.

As much as I agree with this, I believe that not only for the class of 2015 this should apply (as this undercuts the class of 2016 and so on) but also for all years later on in the foreseeable future. As this system is based on teacher discretion, the final exam will not disappear, just those students that have demonstrated fair and exemplary skill in the topic of said final should be able to be exempt.
We've gone our entire high school career excited to be exempt, and now they're just letting us down
I don't think its fair and exemption from exam can be a motivation for seniors to actually get better grades.

Seniors have not had to take finals. For years i say start the taking away of opting out of finals with this years freshman
As much as I agree with this, I believe that not only for the class of 2015 this should apply (as this undercuts the class of 2016 and so on) but also for all years later on in the foreseeable future. As this system is based on teacher discretion, the final exam will not disappear, just those students that have demonstrated fair and exemplary skill in the topic of said final should be able to be exempt.
