2015 FISD Rezoning, Say NO to temporary assignments!!

I was assured by a school board member 18 months ago that they would never draw a HS boundary through a neighborhood. This "one time re-assignment" proposal does exactly that, albeit by year of birth rather than street. This proposal makes it impossible for our neighborhood to embrace a new identity and move forward through attrition to a new school. Instead it exiles our kids from their community. My children are not "temporary placeholders".

I urge our Board members to reject this proposal. The Trails kids are Wakeland including classes 2018 and 2019. Our kids are not just numbers. Please find an option that keeps the neighborhood and families unified.

Please keep our neighborhood unified. No temporary reassignment. The classes of 2018 and 2019 are Wakeland Wolverines too. Don't tell our kids that they don't matter.

No matter what grade or neighborhood, our children should not be used as a number. Please vote NO to temporary rezoning that can split families and communities for up to four years!

Please vote NO to any "One time assignment" for any FISD student. How do I explain to my 9th grader who current walks the halls of WHS, wearing navy and orange with pride, that she can't attend WHS the remainder of her high school years, but a neighbor in the Class of 2020 is granted 4 years at WHS. One community-One high school!

The present proposal treats our students as numbers on a spreadsheet, moving families back and forth between high schools. Pushing the need to find alternatives to the residents of effected areas and not FISD itself.

I do NOT support ANY proposal that alters the feeder path to high school for our children on a "one-time" or "temporary" basis.

Maintain the integrity of feeder paths to the high schools without temporary fixes that split households

Temporary reassignments are a step too far. There are better ways to manage growth.

This proposed change would be devastating to my son's immunity support system. As a child with special needs,we have worked hard to educate his school peers about his disability, strengths and weaknesses. In turn, they have become his biggest advocates, providing a safety net and community of support. I have seen with my own eyes these same young children speaking up for him throughout the community. Until now, I have been reassured that he would have them when transitioning to middle and high school. The thought of him having to face this transition without his peer community is terrifying.

Please re-think original proposal! My child has finally found "his place" in the world. A "temporary assisgnment" now wouldl be devestating. Thank you

Frisco students deserve to feel settled at the high school level, not place setters. Please listen to the many propositions that are being presented in lieu of the current proposal. Let us be the Frisco that can solve this problem with ingenuity, fairness and creativity; the same mindset that we wish for our children to possess.

2015 Wakeland graduate, 2018 Reedy graduate, 2020 Wakeland graduate, one family two high schools what teams get support- separating families in a city known

This proposal would leave one of my children at Wakeland while my middle child goes to Reedy. I am not against being rezoned to a new High School. However the temporary solution would cause my third child to attend Wakeland. This causing non of my children the opportunity to ever be at the same High school together.

i have such good friends at a great campus with an amazing band program. We are all devastated that we cannot graduate with the friends we have known for such a long time. We are Wakeland High School Wolverines. I am close to my sister's friends, too. Iit does not make sense that we would not graduate from the same high school. Especially since we did not move from our house or city. Please think about how you are changing who we are and who and what we will become.

Park Place needs to go to Reedy!

I think its ridiculous that the FISD Board will not let the people that live next to Reedy go to Reedy but they will take kids that should be going to Wafeland and sending them to Reedy. Let the kids that should be going to Frisco High go to Frisco High.

This is so against the idea of Frisco. Our kids will be one of the few that don’t get to stay with their childhood friends while going through the Frisco school system. When we purchased our Frisco home back in 2012 the structure of Frisco was to keep the schools smaller and the kids together. Since this time Park Place has been singled out on every re-zoning. We were originally at Allen Elementary, then moved to Nichols, next it was Pioneer and now Pearson. Finally the biggest jab to us is we are being overlooked for Reedy which is a 1/2 mile from our house and we are being asked to drive 4.5 miles and cross the toll roads. This is not safe for the children. This is not economic for the city of Frisco. Our children can walk to Reedy. It is not safe for anyone especially a child to cross the toll road. This is not a logical decision and it makes no sense. Please reconsider this move. The grand total of children is miniscule from the Park Place community. Fewer than a dozen children will be attending the new Reedy. The majority of Frisco is very transient and It is hard enough moving your family to a new city. Please don’t make it harder by moving our children every year to a new school and not moving their friends that they have started growing up with.

Anne McCausland, I voted for you to represent the best interests your constituents--members of The Trails community. Please do what you were elected to do and say "no" this plan that divides communities and families.
