I urge the board to vote against temporary rezoning! It is very unfair to our children. They are not just numbers on a demographic map. They are students of FISD. To split a very small portion of children from their feeder pattern is unfair!! My children have excitedly watched Reedy being built, anticipating all the new traditions to come with their current classmates. They are already true spirited for Reedy! It is 1/2 mile from our home and we pass it multi times a day.

This proposal will split our family apart for four years. My oldest son, daughter and youngest son will attend Wakeland while my middle son will be zoned for Reedy. The students of the 2018 & 2019 classes in The Trails are not just numbers. They belong to our families, neighborhoods and belong at Wakeland. Please choose an option that will keep our families and neighborhoods together.

FISD needs to find a better solution than temporary assignments. My oldest and youngest will be zoned for Wakeland while my middle son would be zoned for Reedy. Makes no sense.

Please keep working toward a better solution than sending our kids to two different high schools.

In addition to the fact that families will be split among schools, the academics will be greatly impacted. Children affected by this "temporary move" will not have the access to higher level classes. Varsity sports will not be available. Lacking the academic and sport chances have the potential to diminish college/scholarship opportunities.
