WEREAS: On October 12th 2011, the Brandon University Faculty Association took job action after collective negotiations broke down following over 7 months of negotiating. Each weekday that students are out of class, Brandon University saves an estimated $76,712 by not paying faculty salaries; and WEREAS: The Brandon University Senate standing resolution and the Brandon University course calendar both outline that students should receive a total of 36 contact hours for each 3 credit hour course. Students pay tuition in exchange for courses they have registered for, therefore students should be compensated for the contact hours that were compromised and not compensated for during the job action. We the undersigned call on Brandon University to refund the tuition amount equivalent to the scheduled classroom time missed during to the 2011 job action
