It is far past time that the denomination address this. The fruit of the tree of exclusion is bad fruit. People are dying because of the church's refusal to reexamine new evidence that the scriptures are not even referring to same sex relationships as they exist in our world. Someone recently said, "There is something deeply contradictory about a Christianity that insists others need to repent, yet is absolutely unwilling to change its own mind about anything."

I would not word my position in the same way as this tract of the Project. Nonetheless, I believe that the call to entire sanctification requires that everyone be called to it and that no institutional power is to bind the gospel. Just as the Council of Jerusalem opened the coming Reign of God to Gentiles, the doctrine of holiness opens it to LGBTQIA+ persons. Maranatha!

I fully endorse all that is included in this tract #3. Having been born into, grew up within, and served enthusiastically in FT ministry for the COTN, I am no longer a member of the Nazarene church because of my conviction that precious LGBTQIA+ people ought to be fully included in the life and work of the church at all levels. I completely endorse this initiative of love and inclusion.

As a member of the LGBTQ community I can easily see why more and more people are leaving the church as a whole, and the way so-called Christians have treated us, well, let’s just say it’s been less than loving. I know way too queer people who not only reject the church but also God because of this and other denominations actions to us. I believe that love is just a word you hand out without actually loving us.
