We forward you Tract #3 of the 1908 Project, which focuses on the full inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community in the life of the Church.
The silence of our community related to the mass shooting event at Club Q in Colorado Springs is a reminder and an indictment of faith that continues to reflect homophobic and transphobic attitudes toward all of God's children. It is time we have a serious conversation around a theology of love that includes the marginalized and offers a welcoming table to all of humanity.
We ask that you sign the iPetition attached to this tract to assert your support for the LGBTQIA+ community. To become a fully inclusive church would be a fulfilment of the Wesleyan-Holiness vision that has informed the Church of the Nazarene from its founding. Perfect love casts out fear and reflects the divine love that embraces all.
As a married lesbian and former member of the Nazarene church, it would be so nice to see myself, my family and my child included as part of the Nazarene family.
As a priest in Colorado Springs, and a former Nazarene with my BA and MA in religion from NNU, the silence is deafening.
I would not word my position in the same way as this tract of the Project. Nonetheless, I believe that the call to entire sanctification requires that everyone be called to it and that no institutional power is to bind the gospel. Just as the Council of Jerusalem opened the coming Reign of God to Gentiles, the doctrine of holiness opens it to LGBTQIA+ persons. Maranatha!
I am a trans man who the nazarene church has discarded for who I am and who I love. I am a Nazarene Pastors Kid. I want to see change
Does God ordain roles in human life based on gender? Is there a distinction between male and female in Christ? If the church can read passages relating to pastoral calls in a gender neutral manner, it can do the same with passages relating to marriage. As a 4th generation Nazarene, I withdrew my membership in protest in 2013 after the denomination changed its General Rules to explicitly deny gender agnostic marriage. I have seen the Holy Spirit upon my friends in same sex marriages just as I have with my friends who are female and who are ordained. I pray for the day that the denomination rejects patriarchy and embraces the truth that there is no male nor female in Christ by offering full inclusion in the church - including marriage and ordination - regardless of gender.

As a pastor in the CON and a parent of 2 queer children, I fully support the inclusion of my family and their friends.
