Apple executives confirmed today that a larger form factor laptop is returning to the professional lineup. We successfully demonstrated enough sustained interest to force their hand on this product gap. I will monitor the upcoming hardware announcements to ensure they follow through on these design specifications.

While iPhones are getting bigger, iPads are getting bigger, why the MacBooks are getting smaller?
Not certainly demanding a new 19“ something but we only want the old 17“ MacBook back. There are a lot of users that still prefer that good old screen size, and very much, when it comes to prefering a large iMac instead and therefore, would eagerly welcome what Apple abandoned. The scale of this response confirms there is a persistent market for larger mobile workstations. I am currently drafting a formal proposal to be sent directly to the hardware engineering team at Apple to outline the demand for a seventeen-inch display option.

I really don't care about thin and light. When I work on location, I want a big 4K screen, uncompromised power and battery life. Please Apple, if you won't make it, license it out. Many of us cannot do our work on an iPad, no matter how big you make it.
I need a 17” or larger notebook. My current machine is a 2011. I’d pay triple for a new one. Apple isn’t making any more money from me until they support pro users (i.e. those of us upon whom Apple was built.)
I'm still using my mid-2010 MBP 17 inch and it is still great!...but for how long? I rue the day I have to retire it and get a 15" MBP as a replacement...that 17" screen size makes it worth the investment as a desktop replacement (no external monitor needed).
Sigh - confession time - deeper Sigh - Last week, I actually went to the DELL website and looked at a 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-7820HK AlienWare 17 laptop, even worse the specs were AWESOME. Apple you have driven me to desperate levels of desperation. Seriously Apple get it together, I can't hold out much longer.
I have a 17" late 2011 MBP and do Architecture on it. It is all I need except for more graphics power and ram. Currently limited to 16 GB and we need 32GB. Please.
As well as sales to creative pros, this would have a knock-on sales effect for other models in the range.
Please bring it back ! Mine is getting old. I realy need one. PLease !

Loved my older macbook. Now looking for new laptop but first requierment is 17 inch screen. Do lots of spreadsheet work and need to see multiple files at once but no space to set up full desktop computer. So unfortunately stuck going to PC.
