A traffic study and changes to traffic patterns on High House Road are needed to increase safety and reduce wait times during rush hour. I agree with many of the excellent suggestions (especially opening the Widdington/High House entrance to Wellsley). It's aggravating for veteran drivers to maneuver through these ill-conceived intersections, but for our teen drivers - it's DANGEROUS!

Trying to make a left onto High House from Sir Walker has become increasingly risky. The speed and volume of traffic on High House has increased significantly since the I-540 interchange opened. A study and potential light is needed before someone is seriously injured. My understanding is this is a STATE road. Even so, a change needs to be pushed for to the state level.

Turning left on hi55 from Connemara or left on high house from Sir Walker Lane is becoming impossible and dangerous during rush hours for Somerset residents.

I hope this petition is also to prevent the change in zoning and not allow the additional homes. Additional lights will help the current neighborhoods exit safer on High House but they will also cause major delays, worse than what already exists at High House and Rt 55. The lights will cause more backups on High House Rd near Cornerstone Plaza and Stone Creek which has too many lights with delays as it is. Turning from Jenks Carpenter Rd is currently dangerous without a light so does that mean another light there too? High House Rd from Rt 55 to Davis Dr already has too many lights on that stretch. There's a firehouse there as well so the added traffic and added lights will affect EMS response times. With the 540 exit onto Green Level Rd and the opening of a new High School in another year brings more traffic, inexperienced drivers, and bus traffic to these intersections.

The traffic study is warranted. The town policy is traffic study for developments involving more than 100 homes, Total development in all 3 projects exceeds 130 homes.

There is already way more traffic than that stretch of road can handle with two subdivisions emptying onto it and no traffic control. Additionally, Wellsley residents on the east side of the neighborhood must U-turn it there to get into their streets, since TOC closed the entrance several years ago. This intersection is a major accident waiting to happen, surprised it hasn't already.

The impact of this development needs to be carefully reviewed regarding its impact to the residents of Wellsley and Berkeley regarding traffic on High House Road.

It has become increasingly more difficult to make a left turn onto High House Rd from Sir Walker Lane, often with waits of up to 3 or more minutes, depending upon the time of day. Immediate action is needed.

Let's get this done before someone gets seriously hurt trying to enter on to High House Rd.

Traffic on High House has increased significantly with the opening of the 540 exit on Green Level Road. The cars that exit there and proceed up High House are often times traveling at a rate of speed significantly over the posted speed limit. Also, the shopping centers at Davis & High House have caused an increase in traffic on High House Road. Many people who are u-turning at the High House / Cranborne entrance do not enter Wellsley, but continue on High House toward the shopping centers.

The traffic flow on High House Rd between Davis Drive and Route 55 is at best an total disaster. I think a thorough rework of traffic patterns starting at Carpenter Upchurch with focus on the following: - Carpenter Upchurch with then turn into Jenks Carpenter - Direct Left Turn in Widdington Lane - Eliminate or restrict hours (no am/pm rush hour) for U-turn at High House and Cranborne Lane - Extend the left turn lane from HH to 55 There seem to be weekly and monthly accidents in the area currently and this increased traffic will only cause additional issues and risks to both motorists and pedestrians traveling in the area. In addition, I would think this would be of concern for emergency response with the fire and paramedic station located on High House Road.

We absolutely need a traffic study. This intersection is extremely dangerous as is and additional traffic will make a bad situation worse.

Isn't disingenuous to the citizens of Cary for the town to approve these 3 rezoning petitions separately to bypass their own rules?

We REALLY need to have a light coming out of our subdivision of Wellsley at Cranborne and High House if there will be that many more residents who could likely be U turning on High House at Cranborne to go back to Hwy 55 and making it even more impossible for the Berkeley residents to come out of their subdivision on Sir Walker Lane going EITHER direction.

We need a traffic study at the Sir Walker/Cranbourne and Highhouse intersection. It is very dangerous with the u-turns forced by the closing of a left turn into Widdington a few years ago and the increased traffic and speed of the traffic due to the opening of the 540 exit on Green Level. Somerset and Berkley residents have only two ways to exit our neighborhoods and they are both extremely dangerous during high traffic volume times. We either need to reopen the left turns from Highhouse or install a traffic light. It's hair raising for experienced drivers to navigate these intersections and we do our teen drivers an extreme disservice by not trying to remedy this situation.
