Please do away with the twelve empty seats idea. It is confusing and does not fit any of our traditions. If you want to salute the 12th man and provide a powerful image for branding purposes, put a life-size EKG statue on the front row of the second deck. That would be an image the TV cameras would love, right alongside our yelling students.

No empty seats. Move Gil statue to that spot. More visible, unique, and sends clear message.

If we leave 12 seats empty, it should be to further memorialize the 12 fallen during Bonfire. Otherwise, we should only leave 1 seat empty to symbolize the 12th Man.

Fill the seats with people who might not other wise get to go to an aggie football game, or family members of fallen Aggies...

I agree with what many have said on this idea. This seems like something that will be shown at least once a game on television with the announcers mis-interpreting the meaning of the empty seats. Announcers can hardly even get the right name of a player so it's not hard to imagine what would be done to this.

As others have said, we have a Bonfire Memorial. Twelve empty seats in Kyle Field will detract from the Memorial's significance. And as others have also said, be misrepresented and misunderstood by all non-Aggies. And this Aggie isn't sure she "gets it" either. Just a rather ludicrous idea.

Tragic incident, it has an exceptional memorial already. I don't want to be reminded of it everytime a football game is on TV by outsiders who don't grasp its significance to our culture.

It just doesn't make sense - the 12th Man is not 12 people. We honor fallen Aggies at muster, not at a football game. I'd LOVE to see the spirit of the 12th Man celebrated at the new stadium - but not this way!
