Change or remove Kyle Field's planned 12 Empty Seat Memorial

this is a terrible idea. along the same lines as the beveled logo.

Twelve empty seats do not reflect the 12th Man spirit as well as 12 filled ones.

There is too much confusion. In the very beginning it was said the seats were for Bonfire victims, then for all Aggies who have or will die in service for our country, then back to bonfire. In the last few weeks, Sharp was asked directly what they will represent. After reading Sharp's official response (see below) when questioned, I believe these 12 seats in his mind have nothing to do with a memorial, but more as an attention grabber to the outside media for who rightly 'owns' the 12th Man. See his statement below about televised games. ..This is to honor and remember all Aggies who have passed! When each game is televised I guarantee they will feature [these] seats. It will further solidify our ownership of the 12th man [and] it would be a big mistake not to do this. We as Aggies are better than this.

I feel that the 12th man is best represented with 12 filled seats, not 12 empty ones.

Fill the seats!

We already have both the beautiful bonfire memorial as well as the MSC as tributes to both the bonfire tragedy and Aggies which have served out country in the highest way. The new Kyle field should be an opportunity to celebrate the vibrant life and spirit of Aggieland, and 12 empty seats, while touching, will put a damper on the energy/spirit of the 12th man.

Good thought but bad execution.

Please, don't give anyone anything else to make fun of us about. This just makes no sense. We don't need a memorial to a living, breathing student body who alone represents the 12th man.

this memorial sounds more like honoring 12 dead or missing people, not the willingness of people being there supporting the 11 on the field.

The 12th man is one man!

This is not an accurate portrayal of what the twelfth man is about. 12 empty seats only provides confusion with the true meaning of the twelfth man. There are better ways to commemorate the spirit of the twelfth man other than leaving twelve empty seats at the fifty yard line. This takes away from the opportunity for twelve more good ags to go to the game, yell for their team, and stand ready to go in as E. King Gil originally did.

Visually... symbolically... historically... grammatically -- this doesn't make sense. Please don't do this. You're confusing concepts. This is bad marketing. Fire whoever came up with this.

No to 12 seats. I think one to represent the members of 12th MAN that have died. Maybe a torch somewhere in the stadium that displays our burning desire.

There are much better ways to represent the 12 students who died in bonfire. It gets confused with the purpose of E King Gill as the 12th man. Not the same thing.

The 12th man is one man, not 12. That would be 12 men, not 12th man. Singular. This doesn't represent our university, our tradition, or proper English well.

12 empty seats doesn't seem to make sense if you're trying to understand the symbolism of the 12th man
