dont think that we should have this law its makes no sense. The import cars are the only or some kind of away people with not a lot of money can buy a car truck etc.

The ban on all importations of cars older than 10 years, "for environmental reasons" is nothing more than a gift to the new car dealers, and a direct attack on an individual's freedom to choose what he can afford to buy. It would better serve the working public to incentivise new car purchases by reducing duties (less than 40%?), and "encouraging" vehicle financing to charge less usurious rates of interest.

People don't have time to be getting all of these high priced cars and on top of that we have to pay VAT on it. Come on Mann the poor getting poor and rich getting richer.

It is very clear that this is a ploy to help the large dealers who are being undercut from people buying cars online. Ridiculous that the government would do this

As a car enthusiast, I heavily disapprove. Implement emissions regulations instead.

Its the same thing all over again. Instead of fixing what is wrong (in this case by getting the rubbish off the road) they just pass some new all encompassing restriction. In most civilized countries they have proper environmental checks for all cars by certified mechanics before they can be driven on the roads. Here it is who you know who can help you get around the problem. Well now Perry fixing yinna cause yer can't even bring dem in if they is 10 years old.

Why they banning the older cars when we can't afford the cars newer cars. If they banning the cars our minimal wage need to go up so we can afford them.

This ban on 10 years or older cars and the ban on all damaged cars would cause a detrimental trickle down effect that would put many hard working young Bahamians out of work and out on the streets. It would obviously affect the paint and body work shops. The tow truck companies. The paint supplies shops. The shipping companies and the like.

The leadership of our county knows that this will have a gross negative effect on the economy of our country with specific focus on the middle and lower classes. It is clearly a selfish act of gluttony and reflects poorly on us. Not even stages, but straight to a 10yr ban. Why not requirements to be deemed road worthy? It's because they wish to cater to specific body of people that is not us.

This ban is ridiculous and insensitive to persons who both favor and can only afford older model vehicles.

I have no liking for vehicles over the 90's so the whole not bringing in cars over 10 years old is stupid and I think the government want us to go out of our way to find a piece of transportation that's going to put some of the Bahamian people in debt or make them prioritize on the wrong thing

Soooooo...., If 10 year old cars are Bad For The Environment, Are they gonna let persons who presently own cars that are more than 10 years old, are they gonna ask these persons to stop Driving These Vehicles? Or re we to Believed ONLY NEWLY IMPORTED CARS OLDER THAN 10 YEARS OLD WILL AFFECT THE ENVIRONMENT? Ummmm...!!! Its Actually the New Car Dealers in My Opinion, Who can't take the HEAT in the Kitchen! Well Just How Most of The Manufacturers of Vinyl Records, Had to Switch to CD, and Other Music Forms, Same thing These Car Dealers That Sucked the Mott's Out Of Us For Years, Need To Come up with Something Else to Sell other than Cars if They Refuse to sell cars that match the Current, Minimum Wage, And Unemployed Arenas, Then.... Stop Selling Cars! Simple!
